- There are many kinds of machines that help to make work easier.
- Simple machines such as levers, inclined planes, and pulleys make work easier by multiplying the effort, or force, applied to the simple machine, and/or changing its direction.
- Making work easier with simple machines involves trade-offs between the amount of effort or of force, and the distance and time over which it is applied.
