Investigation 1: Bones, Part 2: Mr. Bones Puzzle

Lesson Summary

Students assemble a model of a human skeleton.  First, they assemble the model from memory.  Then, they compare and discuss their models.  They compare a picture of an accurate model to their own work.

Each bone in the human body has an identifiable shape, position, orientation, and function.

Set-up/Management Tips

  1. Inventory Mr. Bones Puzzles to make sure that all pieces are present (19 puzzle pieces).
  2. Have response sheet ready for assessment at end of activity.
  3. Copy any journal sheets needed for this activity.
