Receptionist
Reports to: Management Designee
Classification: Classified Staff, Class 1
Job Summary:
Provides assistance and information for visitors to the Agency and performs clerical duties to support Agency services and activities.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate
- One year of general work experience
Essential Functions:
- Receives visitors, determines their needs, directs them to the appropriate person or area, and assists them with questions and various requests.
- Provides clerical support for Agency services and activities, which may include but not be limited to telephone support, posting notices, mailings, photocopying, computer support, filing, and accepting items delivered to the reception area and forwarding appropriately.
- Responds to emergency needs, directs emergency telephone calls, and notifies the appropriate authorities regarding emergency and/or security needs.
- Maintains orderliness in the reception area.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains proper and adequate records and documentation in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
- Participates in projects, committees or activities to support the mission of the Agency.
- Participates in staff development and professional growth activities.
- Communicates with maintenance staff or cleaning crew regarding service needs.
- Assists meeting facilitators with equipment and room setup, including audiovisual equipment and catered meal/refreshment setup.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

- Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports and correspondence, and apply appropriate mathematical concepts.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal, routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, climbing, hearing, lifting, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking, and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can't always be anticipated.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to be able to operate office equipment including but not limited to computers, fax machines, copy machines, typewriters, telephones.
