Job Summary

Assists educators in obtaining instructional materials.

Qualifications:

  1. High school graduate

Essential Functions:

  1. Retrieves and prepares requested materials for delivery.
  2. Checks in, inspects, and shelves materials using components of automated circulation system.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Completes maintenance and inventory of all collections.
  2. Maintains records related to overdue materials.
  3. Develops and maintains proper and adequate records and documentation in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
  4. Participates in projects, committees or activities to support the mission of the program, unit and Agency.
  5. Participates in staff development and professional growth activities.
  6. Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

  1. Ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships.
  2. Ability to function effectively as a team member.
  3. Ability to convey a positive and professional image to staff and public.
  4. Ability to handle information in a confidential manner.
  5. Ability to organize materials shelved alphabetically and numerically.
  6. Ability to work with appropriate liaison concerning operations of the program.
  7. Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports and correspondence, and apply appropriate mathematical concepts.

Physical Requirements:

  1. High levels of bending, reaching, standing, and walking.
  2. Ability to lift and carry maximum of 50 pounds.
  3. Sufficient manual dexterity to be able to operate office equipment needed to complete responsibilities including, but not limited to, computers, copy  machines, typewriters, telephones.
