Mail/Receiving Clerk

Job Summary:

Maintains an efficient mail and receiving operation.

Qualifications:

  1. High school graduate

Essential Functions:

  1. Processes outgoing/incoming U.S. mail as required by the U.S. Postal Service.
  2. Delivers and picks up interoffice mail.
  3. Processes outgoing and incoming parcel deliveries in accordance with established procedures.
  4. Develops and maintains proper and adequate records and documentation in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Participates in projects, committees or activities to support the mission of the department, unit and Agency.
  2. Participates in staff development and professional growth activities.
  3. Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Normal, routine levels of bending, carrying, lifting, climbing, reaching, sitting, standing and walking.
  2. Ability to lift and carry minimum of 35 pounds.
  3. Sufficient manual dexterity to be able to operate equipment needed to complete responsibilities including, but not limited to, postage scale, postage machine, calculator, telephone, copy machine, typewriter.
