Tools for Reading Success/Making Reading Heavenly
This course teaches beginning and struggling readers to read through extensive phonics and language instruction. Songs, chants and kinesthetic movements enable readers to remember the sounds and rules. The six types of syllables and other foundational rules of our language provide the knowledge base for students to become successful readers. Nonsense words and spelling lists will act as formative assessments to see what learning the child is able to apply on their own. If a student is able to transfer learning from one word to another word with a similar pattern, it will prove they are internalizing the knowledge.
