Grant Wood AEA and Graceland University to sponsor Action Research Symposium

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 

Cedar Rapids…Grant Wood AEA and Graceland University will jointly sponsor an Action Research Symposium on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 1-3 p.m., at Grant Wood AEA, 4401 Sixth St SW, in Cedar Rapids.

The symposium, which is open to all educators and the general public, will feature the results of 62 action research studies conducted in classrooms by local teachers who are Graceland graduate students.

Presenters are elementary and secondary classroom teachers from the following schools: Anamosa, Benton Community, Cedar Rapids, Center Point-Urbana, College Community, Iowa City, Linn-Mar, Lisbon, Lone Tree, Mid-Prairie, Monticello, Muscatine, Solon, Summit School, Williamsburg, and Xavier. The symposium begins with poster sessions from 1-2 p.m., followed by presentations from 2-3 p.m.

This is an excellent opportunity for local educators to increase their understanding of the action research process and for the general public to develop an increased awareness of the type of work taking place in area schools.
