Free vision and hearing screening set for Iowa City pre-kindergarten students May 9-10

Iowa City...Grant Wood Area Education Agency will hold free vision and hearing screenings on May 9 from 8 a.m. to noon and 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., and May 10 from 8 a.m. to noon for children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2007 in the Iowa City School District.  The screening will be held at Grant Wood AEA, 200 Holiday Road, in Coralville.

Grant Wood AEA hearing and vision staff will complete the screenings, with appointments lasting approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Information regarding the results, including recommendations for further testing or medical examination will be available.

Grant Wood Area Education Agency provides instructional and school management services for 33 school districts and 20 approved nonpublic schools in Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, and Washington counties.
