Free vision and hearing screening for pre-kindergarten students

Cedar Rapids. . .Grant Wood Area Education Agency will hold free vision and hearing screenings on May 16 from 8 a.m. - noon and 1:00-3:00 p.m. for children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2007 in the Alburnett, Cedar Rapids, College Community, Linn-Mar, North Cedar, and Springville school districts. 

The screening will be held at Grant Wood AEA, 4401 Sixth St. SW, across from Hawkeye Downs, in Cedar Rapids.

Grant Wood AEA hearing and vision staff will complete the screening, with appointments lasting approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Information regarding the results, including recommendations for further testing or medical examination will be available.

Grant Wood Area Education Agency provides instructional and school management services for 33 school districts and 20 approved nonpublic schools in Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, and Washington counties.
