Graceland University plans informational meeting for Master’s Degree in Collaborative Teaching and Learning

Cedar Rapids…Graceland University will sponsor an informational meeting for teachers interested in Graceland’s Master’s Degree in Collaborative Teaching and Learning. The informational meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. at Grant Wood AEA, 4401 Sixth Street S.W., in Cedar Rapids.

The program, developed by Graceland in collaboration with Grant Wood AEA, began in February 2003 and offers several unique features designed to meet the professional development needs of current classroom teachers. The first course will begin February 2007.  Students in the program will construct curricula around the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS). The students will schedule class-meeting times based on the convenience of the cohort, as well as determine topics and learning activities for most of the classes.

The program can be completed within two years. The application fee is waived for students who complete the online application early and attend the Nov. 6 meeting. Financial aid is available. Prospective students will be able to talk with current students, faculty, financial aid personnel, and staff at the Nov. 6 informational meeting.
