Media Resources

The Media Center's resources provide educators in the Grant Wood AEA service area with materials to enhance student instruction or support professional growth. Selected by professionals, the materials support critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, effective oral and written communication, data collection and analysis.

Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology is a collection of materials used by individuals with disabilities in order to perform functions that might otherwise be difficult or impossible. Materials circulate for 20 days.

 

Boxed Books/Multiples/Leveled Reading

Boxed Books are sets of different titles on a variety of topics.

Multiples are classroom sets of the same title. Leveled sets usually contain six copies of six titles. This collection also contains materials from the IASL (Iowa Association of School Libraries) awards. Materials circulate for 20 days.


Classroom

A collection of curriculum-related resources for teachers to use in the classroom to meet the individual needs of students. Materials circulate for 10 days.


DVD and Video

A collection of rich media materials on a wide variety of topics. DVDs often have enhanced features on the program. Materials circulate for five days.

e-Books

A collection of both professional and student titles is available in digital format. Titles may be ordered online and delivered electronically. Materials circulate for 20 days.

Professional

An integrated collection of print and nonprint materials, this collection contains the latest materials on topics pertinent to the educational professional. Materials circulate for 10 days.


Professional Journals

A small collection of professional journals to support the Teacher Librarian in addition to those available electronically. Materials circulate for five days.

Professional Journals (pdf)


Student Books

A collection of individual titles for students that provides support for curriculums in mathematics, science, social studies, reading and language arts, and is culturally diverse. Materials circulate for 20 days.
