Post-Secondary Expectations: T 22a, T 22b,
T 22c

T22a.  Is there a post-secondary expectation of living that projects beyond high school, is consistent with available assessment information and is observable? Post-secondary expectations statement incorporates observable post-school outcomes in the area of living that are consistent with the available assessment data.

Example:

Henry will live in an apartment when he completes high school.  He may need support as he works toward independence.

Fred will live in an apartment with friends after he has completed high school.

Keith will live in a Systems Unlimited home with roommates.

(8th grade)  Johnny will live on his own away from his parents and independently when he completes high school.

Mary will move to California and live with relatives while she searches for an apartment.

Megan will live with her parents after high school. 

T22b. Is there a post-secondary expectation of learning that projects beyond high school, is consistent with available assessment information and is observable? Post-secondary expectations statement incorporates observable post-school outcomes in the area of learning that are consistent with the available assessment data.

Example:

Susie will attend a 4 year college to study liberal arts.

Michael will enroll in a vocational program or have on the job training in his desired career field.

Judy will learn a variety of skills on the job in a sheltered workshop.

Mary will attend a Culinary Arts Program to pursue work as a chef.

Jeannie will participate in the apprenticeship program through the electricians union.

Chuck will attend adult community education classes for art appreciation.

Megan will participate in a variety of community activities including arts (especially music) and recreation. She will have work-site job training as well.

T22c. Is there a post-secondary expectation of working that projects beyond high school, is consistent with available assessment information and is observable? Post-secondary expectations statement incorporates observable post-school outcomes in the area of working that are consistent with the available assessment data.

Example:

Fred will perform piece rate work in a sheltered workshop.

(8th grade) Mary will work in a career field where she is able to use her interest in animals, especially cats and dogs.

After John finishes his post-secondary coursework, he will work in the career path of auto body.

Jeannie will work in a greenhouse or with a landscaping business.

Chuck will continue his employment in retail after high school.
