The Source for Autism, Gail J. Richard. This manual is part of the Source series from Linguisystems. It contains information about the definition, diagnosis, and characteristics of autism. There are ideas for interventions in the areas of pragmatics, communication, sensory, and behavior. Interventions for both classroom and home settings are suggested.

Breakthroughs: How to Reach Students with Autism, Karen Sewell. This manual contains checklists for evaluation, lists of equipment/materials/supply companies, sample lesson plans, and ideas for matching IEP goals to the evaluation.
Also, there is a Breakthroughs video which is about 25 minutes long. It is good for planning how to work with a newly diagnosed, very young child.

Autism: What is it?, Produced by the Grant Wood AEA Autism Resource Team. This video is 13 minutes long. The video is for all elementary children and is narrated by children. A study guide accompanies the video. Available through the GWAEA Autism Resource Team.
Grant Wood AEA also owns a series of two videos made by Tony Attwood, an Australian psychologist who specializes in Autism/Asperger Disorder.
