The Admissions Office includes links to hundreds of colleges and universities via a number of select metasites, school rankings, entrance tests, applications, financial aid information, and scholarships. Several resources for counselors are also listed. The Admissions Office also offers "Lisa" (Live Internet Selection Assistance), a college counselor who provides short answers to general questions posted by users.
Careers and Colleges includes information about selecting a school, college life, and getting accepted. Search by career or by academic major and be lead to the latest Occupational Outlook Handbook information about the career areas of interest to you.
College Board Online
This site has a Student/Parent section and includes a guide to campus visits; online college applications; scholarship, college, and career information; a financial aid calculator; College Board test dates; and SAT registration.
College Conquerors A college student with a sense of humor and good music has designed a helpful site for the college bound.
Collegeview This site provides a free online college search service with profiles of more than 3,500 colleges, virtual tours, financial aid information, and career planning tools.
College Is Possible A resource guide for parents, students, and education professionals that includes three sections: Preparing for College; Choosing the Right College; and Paying for College. America's colleges and universities have prepared this site to guide you to the books, websites, and other resources that admissions and financial aid professionals consider most helpful. With planning, preparation -- and the right information -- college is possible for almost every American.
The Education & Career Center Peterson's (publisher of a number of college guides) offers informationabout pre-college programs, test preparation, colleges and universities, financing education, distance learning, careers and vocational/technical education, studying abroad, special schools, and more.
Embark (formally Colledge Edge) offers, with free registration, a college match search; a career/major search; a web-based apply on-line system; and a scholarship search. Registrants may receive advertising or e-mails with this service.
High School and College Planning A Family Education Network site-see the section on this page titled "High School and College Planning". Useful information and interactive communication tools to help busy parents help their children succeed. Includes quizzes, polls, discussion groups and articles on parenting and education subjects. Information about Colleges

America's 100 Most Wired Colleges (Click on "Wired")Yahoo! Internet Life magazine presents its ranking of the 100 most wired colleges in the United States. It offers details about each school grouped into the following categories: Hardware and Wiring (Does the school offer unlimited Web access?); Academics (What percentage of classes has web pages?); Student Affairs (Can students register online?); and Social Services (Is there online gaming/chat/dating?).
Campus Life Rankings is a US News & World Report/Fiske Guide to Colleges rankings of campus life.
College Catalog Collections is a subscription service that offers more than 9,200 catalogs of U.S. and international schools in their original cover-to-cover format on-line. Free college search to match your requirements to schools. Then use catalog or go directly to that school's web site.
College Opportunities On-Line (COOL) is a research tool that allows accessto information on more than 9,000 trade schools, colleges, and universities in the US. Users may search COOL by geographic region, by state, by city, by type of institution, or by instructional programs, either alone or in combination. Queries yield general information about institutions, such as type of institution, contact information, Carnegie classification, and Title IV code. In addition, each record provides the cost of tuition and fees, data on fall enrollment, and a list of degrees or awards conferred.
College Rankings for 2000 Users can browse rankings of approximately 1,400 universities and colleges, arranged by type and geographical area. Basic information is provided for each, with a pull-down menu offering more detail in eleven categories, including academics, admissions, student body, extracurriculars, financial aid, and campus life, among others.
College & University Information Sites This detailed page provides links to university home pages; allows one to search for a college; and gives general information on college admissions, majors, and programs.
Cooperative Education Sponsored by the National Commission for Cooperative Education, this site describes ways that students can get work experience in related fields during college and includes links to colleges offering co-op.
Degree Search Find the colleges and universities that offer specific types of degree or certificate programs. For students who know the type of program in which they wish to enroll; this is a great tool.
Interactive Virtual CampusTours An index of campus virtual tours, maps, Webcams, pictures and videos. The site takes time to visit; a good site to visit after selecting a few colleges of high interest.

Apply Online Home Page Download Apply! software, which contains applications for more than 500 U.S. colleges and universities. Schools that accept applications over the internet are noted.
Remind-O-Rama Students who register at this site, sponsored by Princeton Review, receive periodic e-mail reminders about deadlines for college applications, financial aid forms, testing programs and tips and advice to help you succeed.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

College Funding Company College-bound students and their parents will find information on topics ranging from college preparation, admission application, and financial aid to repaying educational loans.
College Planning is Iowa's new center to provide on-line financial planning assistance to students and their families.
College Scholarship Information There are dozens of sources of information on college scholarships. This collection includes scholarship information, links to resources from colleges, and other pointers on applying for both admission and financial aid.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2000-2001 This on-line form is used to determine students' eligibility for federal grants or loans, for most state student financial aid, & for aid from many colleges or universities. The process takes anywhere from 20 minutes for students who are familiar with the FAFSA, to about an hour for first-time applicants. The application is customized for each student, asking only those questions that the applicant needs to answer. Online help & online editing help prevent most mistakes. Students short on time can even save everything onto a disk & complete & submit their application later. The website also allows students (regardless of how they filed) to check the status of their application, obtain their estimated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) online, or request a duplicate Student Aid Report (SAR). All 2000-01 financial aid applicants will receive PINs in the mail. With these PINs they will be able to make corrections on the web, apply for aid for the following school year through a simplified renewal application process, & check the status of loans they have that are in the Department's databases.
Federal Direct Loan Counseling and Quiz Take a 15 minute informational counseling session and quiz to qualify for a federal direct loan. Information covers the loan, other resources to consider, rights and responsibilities as a borrower, and budget worksheets/calculator to help you plan your finances.
